I'm so devastated right now I don't even know what to do with myself.

It's ok to feel devastated but please talk to someone! Do not be so hard on yourself, if you gave it your all, it was out of your control. Veterinarians sometimes give it their all and fail. Failure begins on day 1 of this journey. The path to veterinary medicine, especially in this country is challenging. The university also offers counselling services or you can call Good 2 Talk anonomously to discuss how you feel. Rejection is never a bad thing, it just means OVC wasn't ready to accept you. I know how hard it is to get accepted. I applied through the graduate cohort and I am currently awaiting my rejection because the entire process is like a lottery. Feel free to message me if you want to chat as well. This was my first time applying but I have worked so incredibly hard and then put myself through grad school which tought me a lot about failure as well as success. I haven't been accepted but nobody is going to tell me that I can't be a veterinarian. I'm going to be one of the best in the world. There are hundreds of veterinary schools, some are even better than OVC.The quality of their graduates are also very different and this becomes evident in practice.

I'm so devastated right now I don't even know what to do with myself. Getting rejected sucks. It will hurt, but you're more valuable than what vet school thinks! You have talents that can be used in other ways - everyone does.

I'm really sorry to those of you who didn't get in. As a second timer myself I know all to well what you're going through. I also know that nothing anyone says right now will make you feel better. Please take care of yourselves, take some time to be sad. It's okay to be. Being told you can't go after your dream is one of the hardest things you will ever experience. So be sad. Cry, scream, whatever you need to do. Just make sure to take care of yourself, and in a few days/weeks, when it doesn't hurt as much, pick yourself up and work towards your goal once again.
Use your "refused admission" to your advantage. I don't know that I would have been nearly as successful during my first year if I had gotten in on the first try. You have no idea how much room there is for you to grow, and how much more you'll appreciate your position in this profession once you finally receive that coveted "admitted" notification.
So take your year, and do what you can with it, save up enough money you don't have to take any loans out, get an amazing veterinary experience and remind yourself why this profession is one worth fighting for, do a one year masters, but do not give up on your dream. I can't tell you that the hurt will go away. For me the entire year was painful and it took forever until the next admission cycle.
I'm really sorry (to those who were refused admission) are going through. It's not something I would wish upon my worst enemy. I hope you all take the time you need and when the time comes, you get to be apart of OVC class of 2021.
Stay golden

I have put so much of my life into this and I thought things went so well that I was a little surprised at the refusal. My heart is broken. I don't know if I can go through this process again, it's been so draining, I just don't know if it's worth it.

Does anyone know when/if we will be receiving emails? Everyone receives emails and letters in the mail regardless of your admission status. You will also get your interview scores within a week (usually)

If you haven't received anything by now its probably not coming until tomorrow but if your Webadvisor says admitted, it's really happening and you should go celebrate! It's official!! Congrats on being a part of OVC c/o 2020!!! Your hard work has paid off!

There's a FB group for us to join: if you search Ontario Veterinary College Class of 2020 (if you creep they have one for every year) there's also an unofficial one called OVC class of 2020

I just thought I really needed to post this...
For all of you who did not get admitted this year, please DO NOT GIVE UP. This was my 3rd time applying. I almost did not apply again this year because I did not think I could go through the refusal process again. However, with a little persuasion from loved ones I applied... and got in! I know how hard it is to work so hard and not see any results and wonder if you have what it takes. All of those emotions I know too well. But just remember this... good things come to those who work hard and wait and NEVER give up!
Your time will come. Stay strong.

To add to this: it's also ok to get upset about your refusal (coming from someone who's now two for two). I'm sorry to those who went to the LCBO after me as I cleared out the sangria but feel free to join my pity party. It's almost a curse and a blessing that 50% dominos codes are happening right now.... Have a night everyone! To those who made it in, I'm very proud and every one of you and it was well deserved. To those who haven't yet, I'm also very proud for how much you've done and don't worry, we may not have 2020 vision but we'll look back in 2021 and see it still turned out.

It really hurts to get rejected but trust me your application will get better and more competitive next year if you work at it. I found in my upper years of undergrad it was easier to get higher marks and with doing an interview you will have valuable experience first time applicants next year won't have. The interview was my biggest obstacle and only got better every year I did it.

Can any of the admitted applicants post their stats?

They did not email the interview scores yet so there is no point in posting the stats until that happens.

Can people who did well on the interview offer some tips? I get that there are MMI tips all over the internet but obviously you guys did something right and said the right things that OVC interviewers were looking for. This was my 2nd time and my interview score remained in the low 70s... even though I thought I did way better this year and felt way more confident.

90.1 admission average and 82.25 on the interview Were you accepted or rejected? Applied with a 94 admission average and got a 75 on the interviews....was not accepted. Im rattled to say the least. The first is a composite score of 87.3525 ... While the second is 87.35 If the first person got accepted then we pretty much have the cut off figured out for this year. It would be cool to get more responses from more people. But either way these percentages are absolutely insane. Getting rejected with a 94/75 would make me livid
