I was wondering what people's thoughts were regarding veterinary related scenarios on the casper test? Everyday scenarios seem to be more common

From what I read on the website, the Casper test we're going to take isn't specific to any profession. From the examples I've seen, they are mostly everyday scenarios and once in a while you get medical doctor scenarios.

From the CASPer FAQ: "All scenarios are generic ethical dilemmas that you may encounter in your everyday life. They are not specific to the program or profession you are applying to."

Not a problem I ended up booking a prep spot for later this week with their DVM consultants to see what help/advice they can offer for our BIF interview style

How is everyone feeling about tonight? The answers I see online are so perfect (and surprisingly long), and manage to cover all the bases. My answers for the practice CASPer are definitely not as great as that! I wanted to put this out there in case others are feeling the same way! We're all in this together

My answers for the practice CASPer are definitely not as great as that! I wanted to put this out there in case others are feeling the same way! We're all in this together I am anxious as well, but feel alright having done several practice tests. The main thing for me was getting used to organizing my thoughts in a concise manner while typing and working with the 5 minute time restriction. I noticed both my practice tests from the site (2019-2020 and 2020-2021 samples tests) had almost the exact same questions-did others find this as well? I wound up looking elsewhere for additional practice questions because of this. Good luck to everyone!

I don't feel exactly great after it. I missed the last question for 2-3 scenarios. 5 minutes is not enough to answer them completely. but again, everyone is given the same amount of time so it's a little fair (I say a little because people have different typing speeds)... I hope casper isn't weighed more than the face-to-face interview

I hope casper isn't weighed more than the face-to-face interview I definitely agree that 5 minutes is such a short amount of time to write a good answer for each question, and from what i read/heard the markers do understand the time constraints so its not like you're going to fail a question just because you didn't finish your answer. Also i feel like at a certain point it doesn't even matter how fast you can type- for example i can type 80 wpm but while answering the questions i definitely wasn't typing that fast the whole time since i needed time to think of what I wanted to say as well. Does anyone know how they are planning on weighting the two interviews? I emailed admissions back when they first told us about the altered format but havent heard anything back.

I feel like nothing i said on the CASPer could be seen as catastrophically awful but past that i have no idea how "good" any of my responses were.

Hi everyone, I hope your interviews have been going well! I was wondering how people found the casper test compared to the MMI interviews? This is my first time going through the application cycle. Did you have a preference for one over the other? Just curious

Hi everyone, I hope your interviews have been going well! I was wondering how people found the casper test compared to the MMI interviews? This is my first time going through the application cycle. Did you have a preference for one over the other? Just curious I've only done the MMI once, but I will say I preferred Casper. I found the MMI difficult due to the lack of interaction with the interviewers. The MMI felt more like a presentation and I found it makes it difficult to build a rapport with the interviewers and really show your soft skills in a way? The Casper is obviously also non-interactive but I found it less anxiety-inducing because the "interviewer" in real time is the computer, so I obviously can't build a rapport. The questions were quite similar in style, but I also like that the Casper gives you guidance on what to answer (having three questions instead of one). These are my thoughts and it's very unlikely I am the popular opinion.. Hope this can give some insight though!

I very much prefer MMIs over CASPER because you get time to formulate your answer and enough time to answer and go through all the consequences, options and pros/cons. Plus it gets rid of any technical difficulties.

Does anyone know when the estimated time for receiving an answer now that the Casper scores have been sent is? The website says we will hear the week of the 29th. So we get to second guess ourselves till then 😂
