I wish everything updated all at once...
Has anyone received a declined yet? I'm worried they've just sent out acceptances.

Unfortunately I got the dreaded refused DVM along with my friends. It was delayed from the acceptances.. it took about 1 hour from when “Omg” posted to check to show up on my Webadvisor.

To everyone who was rejected this time around, I'm so sorry! The feeling absolutely sucks, so let yourself sit in that disappointment for a while and feel all the feelings. And when you're ready, dust yourself off and make a game plan for what's next!
Remember that even getting an interview is a HUGE accomplishment and you should be so proud of yourself. I AM PROUD OF YOU!! If being a veterinarian is what want to do with your life, you WILL find a way to make it happen! You just have to believe in yourself and deal with each challenge along the way one step at a time. Please take care of yourself, and surround yourself with people who will support you through this. Sending virtual hugs to anyone who needs them rn xoxo

Just got my acceptance email!
Hopefully everyone else has received theirs as well whatever the outcome. I can't imagine the stress of seeing other applicants getting their decision without hearing back.
Congratulations to the future class of 2026, and lots of hugs for those who didn't get in this year. You will get past this, there are many more opportunities to come!

Got my acceptance this morning and I still don’t feel it is real. Can’t wait to meet you all this September!!!!
Also for all those who did not get in do not give up. This was my 3rd application and I also did a masters. Keep working for your dream, no matter what.

I got rejected also. This was my second attempt and honestly I don’t know what to do. I dislike how they don’t tell you your interview marks anymore as I wish to know what I could improve on . Feeling pretty down

Has anyone gotten the rejection email?
Does it mention anything about a waitlist?

Yes OK I just got it too...
We're in this together, let's try to enjoy the rest of our summer and get ready for next cycle, or whatever other big plans you all may have!
I am thinking about emailing them to ask about interview scores or at least our final rank... It would be nice to know.

Feeling absolutely crushed. I felt so confident after my interview, I was so proud of myself for preparing well and overcoming my own anxiety in order to give my best. This was my third application, and now im feeling like its just never going to happen. Tired of rejection and the fact that international schools are so incredibly difficult to finance. Thinking it might be time to call it quits.

I know exactly how it feels to put everything into this and to not get in. If you are passionate about this and know you need to be a vet then keep pushing and you will get there. I’m so sorry and I know how awful that feels but there is hope, I promise!

Hi all. I know stats will get released eventually, but I'm just wondering if those of you who got admitted could share their admissions averages. I felt I had a great application and I'm feeling like my average is what ultimately stopped me from getting in (speculating of course). Congrats to everyone who got in. I know how hard you worked and how deserving you are to have gotten in. Maybe ill see you there next year

I know how hard you worked and how deserving you are to have gotten in. Maybe ill see you there next year i had a 91.6 applying average, 4th quartile casper, felt really good about my interview. Don’t give up! I had an 89.8 last year and didn’t even get an interview and was absolutely crushed. Didn’t think I’d ever get here and i just got admitted!

I had a 92.05 average this year with a 4th quartile casper. Felt pretty confident after the interview but you never know. Ecstatic to have gotten in but I know how terrible it feels to be rejected as that was me last year. Got an interview last year with a 90.3. I went back for a semester to upgrade marks. Just understand that your emotions are valid because it truly is brutal. But in all honesty the rejection helped me grow and become stronger this application.
For stats purposes my friend also got accepted this year with a 90.5 with 4th quartile casper. He is an RVT and felt the interview went well.

I was admitted with a 93.4 and 4th quartile Casper. My heart goes out to those who didn’t get admission this year… I know it is so painful to go through so I hope you can be kind to yourself. Please keep trying and your persistence will pay off, and hopefully I’ll see you there next year!!
I didn’t get an interview with a 3.7 GPA in Calgary 2 years ago, and an 89.4 in Guelph last year. While it was tough to not even meet the minimum for an interview, I tried to keep pushing and it has paid off. Sending loving vibes to everyone. I hope that you are getting the support that you need (and deserve!).

I had a 96 average and 4th quartile casper, this was my first time applying. Thought the interview went well but got rejected so I’m not sure where I went wrong. Feeling super blindsided and discouraged about this so any insight would be appreciated

I got rejected twice by OVC with a 89 average. For both application cycles (2019 &2020) they rejected me after the interview (2019 they did MMI and 2022 they changed to Casper) . I was extremely upset after the second rejection cuz it made me feel like I may not be a competent candidate for vet schools. Then I started to work in a small animal clinic and gained more experience and I started to look at vet school abroad and I applied on VMCAS for the Royal Veterinary College and the vet school at the University of Edinburgh with an overall GPA of 3.5 with 2500+ hours in a small animal clinics and some animal experiences in different fields. For both schools, I did MMI and I think I did pretty well (I practiced MMI so hard after my first rejection) . I got accepted to both vet schools in their 4-year program and I was so relieved because the acceptance helped me to gain confidence. Then I applied for OVC for the third time , and unfortunately, I still didn't get in. I didn't get an interview this time because of my grade and low Casper score. I am really determined to become a veterinarian, I may try a fourth time and go back to school to upgrade my marks. The feeling of rejection sucks but I believe that if going into the veterinary field and helping animals is what you want, then it is worth to try again! I am rooting for you!

Feeling super blindsided and discouraged about this so any insight would be appreciated That's tough I'm very sorry to hear that! Your stats are amazing though and I'm sure they'll put you in a good position again for the next cycle! Many applicants take 2 or more attempts to finally get admitted... Although the ranking formula seems pretty straightforward, there does appear to be a more "holistic" aspect to the admissions process to make sure that each applicant's experiences and references are appropriate for OVC. What's odd though is that from what I've read, this non-academic selection usually seems to happen before interview invites. My impression was that if you received an interview, it meant you met these non-academic requirements. This may not be true though and there may be another round of "holistic" selection after the interviews. Unfortunately, the other possibility is that your interview score dragged down your admissions average. It's always difficult to know exactly what interviewers expect and want, so even if things seemed to have went well, it may be that you didn't quite address everything they needed from you. Remember that all 200 interviewees have made it this far and are also outstanding applicants with excellent preparation. This means that even a good interviewee could sadly be at the lower end of the score range. Either way, please do not give up! All we can do is continue to try and improve the things we can, prepare well for the CASPer and hope for the best next year.
