Hey Julie! Your experience sounds amazing! I hope mine is that good! ;D
I don't know if you are planning on applying to OVC or already have so I'm unsure of how to ask this question but I'll give it a shot so bear with me!
Did you/are you using a veterinarian you worked alongside during your experience as a reference in application? I'm just curious for future reference how that would work internationally having a veterinarian write a reference letter for you.

Im in the process of applying.
I haven't totally decided if i'm going to use one of the vets yet.
However, a friend of mine used a vet from the VIDA trip last year (shes now first year OVC), and it went well for her.
Everything had to be done over email (contacting them, telling them what they had to do etc), and obviously for the people in Nicaragua/ Costa Rica this wasn't always readily available for them (the vets travel around A LOT) Also, you will want to make sure that you start the process of getting the letter/form from them as soon as you can, since you wouldn't want the mail system to fail you for something so important, since they will have to send it all internationally!
From what i heard from her though it is something that you could definitely do!

I remember hearing that OVC doesn't care much for foreign veterinary experience as the veterinary services offerered in other countries may be different than what occurs in Canada or the US. Does anyone know whether this is true or not?
