For those who have attended york university and are looking to apply or have already gotten in DVM, what courses at york will satisfy the biochemistry requirement?
I have already taken biochemistry 2020 and gotten an A however i took it in a semester with only 4 courses so i believe it will not count.
Thanks in advance

Hey I went to York! I used BCHM2020 . I think the advanced biochem would also satisfy the prereq( willson used to teach it) , probably Macromolecules ( Dr.Audette taught it)... It is possible that the molecular I would also satisfy it.
All you have to do is to submit the course for pre approval which will take couple months. Last year I got my courses approved two days before the interview invites.
Feel free to PM if you need more help

Hello all,
I'm currently at York as well. Credit-wise i'm still a first year student as i'm a bit behind on schedule. Exactly which Biological sciences classes would be appropriate (i.e. BIOL 2030, BIOL 2050,etc.), and is there an appropriate statistics course as well? How about the Social Sciences/Humanities course requirements. If a 6.00 or 9.00 credit course is taken, then does it count as both of the necessary prerequisites?
I am enrolled with LDS (Learning Disabilities Services), and cannot manage more than 3-4 courses a semester. Is there a way to have the necessary prerequisites accepted, if they are taken in an 80% course load for example. I believe i would then need to give supporting documentation and/or necessary paperwork which would be deemed appropriate.
I appreciate hearing from you all soon.

Hi Hasan, I am sure if you email someone in OVC admissions they can be of more help (perhaps Deanna Lundmark?), but I think it would be helpful consider that in vet school you are required to take 8 courses at a time. See the link below for some more info on your query. It doesn't seem to say that non full time semesters can be accepted unless that is the normal structure of your program. Best to talk to someone who knows about it though! Sorry I can't help you with the York course stuff as I am a Guelph student. But for your 6/9 credit counting as both social science/humanities I think that would work, but I don't understand your credit system. 1.00 credits are required (equivalent of two courses at Guelph). I know you can use a 1.00 credit course to count for half of that and believe you could also count it twice if that made your admission average higher. www.ovc.uoguelph.ca/recruitment/en/applyingtodvm/Academicrequirements.asp
