Hey! I was looking through the application page for the OVC to see if there was anything about taking first year courses in second year. Is this possible? I need to take electives for my major but I can't jump to many second year classes without the prerequisites.

As you appear to be aware, the key regulations regarding the acceptability of courses are laid out at: www.ovc.uoguelph.ca/future/dvm/admissions/academic/#Important For your case, I'm going to assume you're a straightforward 2nd year (i.e., don't already have another degree, completed less than 10 credits total, no academic "detours," etc.). So, I would say the only item you'll have to pay particular attention to is the whole: Courses will not be acceptable if they are repeats of previously passed courses, or if they are taken at the same level or a lower level in a subject area than previously passed courses in the same subject area.
So, basically, don't try to do a 1st year course now that is essentially the same as (or similar enough to) courses already completed. As with all things related to admissions, if you still have concerns you should clear things with Deanna Lundmark so there are no unhappy surprises in the future; never fun getting a letter back disapproving the use of a course/semester you were counting on using.
