UBC - Applied Animal Biology Major, Land and Food Systems.
These are the courses I used for my application because the basic courses such as BIOL 201, BIOL 200, LFS 252 I took with only 4 courses per semester so they were not acceptable for my application to OVC. Make sure you take 5 courses per term and the proper year level of those courses. I was set back from applying for a year because I took too many lower level courses in my 3rd year, even though I took 5 courses per term. This required me to redo my cell bio, biochem and statistics.
Biological Sciences 1: BIOL 346 Microbes and Society Biological Sciences 2: APBI 490 Aquaculture and the Environment
Cell Biology: BIOL 431 Evolutionary Cell Biology
Genetics: FRST 302 Forest Genetics
Statistics: EPSE 482 Introduction to Statistics for Research in Education
Biochemistry: BIOL 462 Ecological Plant Biochemistry
Humanities & Social Sciences 1: EPSE 406 Typical and Atypical Development in Infants and Children Humanities & Social Sciences 2: APBI 314 Animals and Society

Into to Organismal Form and Function (BIO 162)
Fundamentals of the structure and physiology of tissues and organs of plants and animals: energy acquisition and food distribution, gas exchange and fluid transport, and sensing and responding to the environment. 3 lectures, 1 laboratory.
Survey of Genetics (BIO 303)
Principles of heredity and variation. Transmission genetics; molecular mechanisms of inheritance and gene expression. 4 lectures.
Survey of Biochemistry and Biotechnology (CHEM 313)
Chemistry of biomolecules including carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, enzymes and hormones. Basic molecular biology with applications to biotechnology and genetic engineering. Practical intermediary metabolism of prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems. 4 lectures, 1 laboratory.
Physiology Chemistry of Animals (ASCI 320)
Interactions between the biological and chemical reactions in livestock. Physiology explained at the organ, tissue and cellular level as it relates to the whole animal system. 4 lectures.
Santa Rosa Junior College Courses:
Introduction to Principle Biology (BIO 10)
4 Units/3 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory. Introductory course in biology including: scientific method, ecology, biodiversity, physiology and anatomy, chemistry of life, cell and molecular biology, genetics, and evolution.
Elementary Statistics (MATH 15)
4 Units/4 hours lecture. Exploration of concepts in statistics, descriptive statistics, probability theory (including but not limited to the uniform, binomial, Poisson, normal, chi-square and t distributions), Central Limit Theorem, estimation of population parameters from a sample, hypothesis testing (including parametric and nonparametric methods), correlation and linear regression, introduction to analysis of variance, computer simulations.
History 21 An examination of the interrelated roles of race, ethnicity and gender in shaping political and cultural institutions in the United States. From pre-Columbian times to the present, the course will explore and analyze the experiences, contributions, and interconnectedness of African, Asian, European, Latino and Native American peoples. 3 units/3 hours lecture.
Human Relations in Organizations (BAD 52)
3 Units/3 hours lecture. Human relations addresses issues of self-esteem, values, attitudes, motivation, communications, team dynamics, change, creativity, conflict, stress, diversity, ethics, and health. This course is an exploration of the awareness and self understanding of how interpersonal skills influence relationships with others and how to enhance those skills to be more successful as a member of a work environment and society
Intro to Theatre Arts (THAR 2)
3 Units/3 hours lecture. An introduction to theatre as both an art form and social forum, emphasizing the interrelated processes of playwriting, acting, directing, design, technical theatre, theatre criticism, theatre management, and theatre architecture. Hey guys! I did my undergrad at McMaster and these are the credits I used as my prerequisites:
Biology - I believe most biology courses are acceptable, however these were two of my highest marks
- BIO 3SS3: Population Ecology - Life Sci 3K03 (or KIN 3E03): Neural Control of Human Movement
Genetics
- BIO 2C03: Intro to Genetics
Cell Biology
- BIO 3P03: Cell Physiology (did not do as well as I wanted in 2B03, though many use this as a prereq)
Statistics
- STATS 2B03: Statistical Methods for Science (with Dr. Childs!)
Biochem - again many courses in the department qualify for this
- BIOCHEM 2EE3: Metabolism and Physiological Chemistry
Humanities - so many qualify for this so take something that interests you!
- CLASSICS 2D03: Intro to Greek and Roman Myth - PSYCH 3T03: Behavioral Ecology
Good Luck to all applying this year!!

Hi everyone! I went to Mac for undergrad and here are the courses I submitted:
Biological Sciences -LIFESCI 2A03 (this may not work again considering I got an email saying it’s not a viable pre-req, but was allowed to use it since I had it approved a year earlier) -LIFESCI 3RP3 (must have your project approved in order for this to work)
Genetics -BIO 2C03
Cell Biology -BIO 2B03
Biochem -BIOCHEM 3G03
Humanities - pretty much every non science course works for this. Here are a few that were approved for me -PSYCH 1X03 -HLTHAGE 1CC3 -CLASSICS 2MT3 -ECON 1B03 -any psych course -most language courses
