Hello I am going into my third semester of Biological science at U of G and am having trouble trying to align my DVM entrance requirements with my Biological science requirements. Can someone share what courses they took in third and forth semester in the Biological Science major that met the DVM admissions requirements
Thank you for your help
Nicole

Hi Nicole, Things have changed slightly at UoG since when I completed my undergrad little over 2 yrs back. However, within the Biological Science program, you should quite a bit of flexibility. The courses may not be the same, so my 1st suggestion is to make an appointment with one of the BioSci counsellors- they can usually help you navigate course selection well.
In my case, I did the 3 yr General Biological Science degree. You dont have much wiggle room in 1st year. Most of my vet school pre-reqs were 3000 and 4000 level courses. It sounds like you want to know about 2nd year courses- Do genetics, biochem and stats (all are intro courses and can be used for vet school)- the course numbers have changed since I went through it.
I sat and planned out my courses for all 3 years (with a plan for an extra 4th yr)- for each semester, I planned back up courses as well in case I couldnt get into the ones I wanted.
All in all, you've got a fair amount of flexibility- look through the DVM pre-reqs (they should have a list of acceptable courses) and meet with an advisor to make yourself a plan.
