I'm non-Guelph, so I'm in the process of submitting yet another course evaluation. I did an independent research course (i.e. work with a professor on a research project for the school year, finish with a poster and report) and was hoping to get it approved as a pre-req.
Has anyone submitted independent research courses for approval? What was the process like? What extra documents did you include to prove that you really did work on a project? I don't know if Deanna Lundmark would appreciate reading my final paper... (Feel free to message me in 4-8 weeks. I'll be able to answer my own questions then, haha.)

Deanna won't read any papers, all she needs is a course syllabus, transcript listing what other courses you took that semester, and a grade.

I just wonder if my course syllabus is too vague? It explains that research topics and marking scheme are to be decided between the student and their supervising professor. So the course syllabus can't explain how my final mark was determined since that depends on each student and their project. If I need to submit an extra page with the marking breakdown, I definitely don't mind. I'd just rather not have to find out after my request is processed. I guess it's something to double check with Deanna Lundmark! EDIT: My research course was not approved =(
