"Students who have completed a degree and are upgrading in a non-degree category for the purpose of D.V.M.
admission will be expected to register in the highest level courses possible for them." If I were taking a 1st year course in a subject area because I have never taken any courses in that subject area would this be considered the highest level possible? I don't have the specific course prereqs for any higher level course although I would meet the prereq requirements of those higher level courses that have, for example, "7.5 credits" as the prereq. Would I be expected to take these higher level courses instead? Just wondering if anyone has run into this issue before?
Thanks!

I think 1st year courses should be fine. I'm doing a non-degree & taking two first year courses with no problems.
But of course you should check with Lundmark.

I took a first year philosophy course during my non-degree semester without any prerequisites. I think you'll be fine as long as three of your five classes are 3rd and 4th year classes.

Make sure you get your semester approved if you're unsure! I have an arts degree, and my current semester is not counting towards OVC because I'm taking second year philosophy, even though it's the highest level I can do in that department based on my prerequisites. If you already hold a degree, or are considered third year based on the number of credits you've acquired, you must take 3000/4000 level non science courses. Don't make the same mistake I did! You'll violate the 60/40 rule - which is a horrible rule in my opinion.
