If you are an applicant, you have a guelph email. Use that guelph email to apply to join the Facebook group. I am a student from a different university and was accepted within the hour. While I agree the information should be available to everyone and posted as an official Guelph statement, anyone who needs the information CAN get access to it quite easily. Hope that helps.

Yes it's true that if you find the group, it is easy to gain access. But you cannot expect hundreds of applicants to know about this forum that is not referenced in any OVC content, go through every post, find the one about the facebook group, and then request to join. We all understand the delay in interview invites and potentially interviews, but the communication has been downright unprofessional. It's no surprise the vast majority of accepted student come from a Guelph undergrad if this is how communication is handled for all matters.

guestwaiting - I could not agree more.
hopefulapplicant, it took me weeks to even find this forum page. Stop belittling the situation. While with COVID we can expect delays, an update from the university is needed and is necessary.

I do wish there was an official acknowledgement from UoG. I did not mean to belittle the situation, just meant to help anyone who was looking for access to the group. But again, you're right. We really shouldn't be looking to get access to a closed group to find the most UTD information (or any information for that matter) on the interview process.

I agree, it really should be posted somewhere official, this is so frustrating!! I got an email from OUAC saying that things may be delayed but there really should be an email from Guelph itself...

The communication has always been lacking between the administration and potential vet students. Luckily the communication and organization is much better once you get in. I'm in phase 3, and we just had our last exam yesterday (along with the rest of the phases). Our semester was moved back by 1 week, so I would think you will get your interview invitations a week later than usual. Hope that helps and good luck to everyone! I hope the lack of communication does not jade you, it is an amazing program!!

I am a student at Guelph and had difficulties getting into the group at first. Once I added my uoguelph.ca email as an additional email on my facebook account, I was accepted to the group immediately!

May 14 for interviews starting on the 25th? Do you know if we would get a specific date or a range of dates to choose from? I have work and need to give them sufficient notice. I suspect that they will push back the dates for the interviews as well, Ms. Lowenger commented on the facebook post that those details will be "announced shortly" Can anyone confirm yet that May 25th is not an interview day? I need to know if I can pick up a shift at work. Hopefully these details will be made public shortly.

As far as I know nothing has been confirmed (just checked the facebook group). They also didn't officially say that they were changing the dates...someone asked if the interview dates were going to remain the same and Elizabeth Lowenger replied that "that would be announced shortly". Hope that helps a bit

Yes I totally agree with guestwaiting that they need to make this information accessible to everyone. I am applying from a different university and I have to rely on the information posed on this forum instead of hearing directly from Guelph. How hard is it for them to send an email to all the applicants explaining what’s going on!?!? It is very stressful and annoying having to wait extra time to hear back about the most important interview in my life....I guess they have forgotten what it feels like to be an applicant. Applicants still have no idea what's going on, because we still haven't received an official update. This should have been communicated via Gryphmail or the official website first, both of which everyone was told to monitor for application updates. COVID is affecting all of us, failure to communicate this decision to applicants until the last possible day (and only making it available to a Facebook-few) is blatantly disrespectful to all student-applicants who've spent the past two months furiously refreshing their inbox for ANY type of update regarding the outbreak. Surely the decision to bump-out interview selection until (potentially) May 14th was not made April 30th alone; this should have been sent-out days, if not, weeks ago, for everyone's peace of mind. Applicants should not be expected to monitor a third party request-to-join Facebook group for up-to-date information (yet another information outlet, for which no link was provided during any part of the application process). Please send-out an email update.

Does anyone know if the offers went out to everyone or do they come out in stages? And did people who receive acceptances see a change on their web advisor yet?

Does anyone know if the offers went out to everyone or do they come out in stages? And did people who receive acceptances see a change on their web advisor yet? I believe you shouldn't see any changes to your web advisor status if you've been offered an interview, based on past posts here. It will say "application received", and if you are accepted after the interview, it will say "admitted". I'm not sure about how offers were sent out - I received mine at 12:53 pm today. Did anyone receive theirs earlier or later than that?

I also received an interview invitation but no change on Web Advisor. I do not anticipate the status will change until after the interviews.
