If i worked at the same clinical but took a year break in between would i include these as two separate experiences. I initially worked as a volunteer veterinary assistant and then later was hired as a veterinary assistant. I do have more roles as a paid employee now and since we need to include the start and end date it would imply I worked at the clinic for nearly three years not factoring in the break.
Also, I just wanted to clarify if the clinic I work at also takes in rabbits, guinea pigs, etc., would this fall under the mixed animal category or just small animal?

Also, I just wanted to clarify if the clinic I work at also takes in rabbits, guinea pigs, etc., would this fall under the mixed animal category or just small animal? I always divided my BIF sections by place, but if there was an inconsistent timeline/schedule for one role then leave room to specify the timeline in the box provided to elaborate on the responsibilities. You can say something like “hours reported reflect shifts between year A to year C but year B is not included”. I know it’s tricky but try to make things as clear as possible so there are no discrepancies between your reported hours and what your references or validators report. I think the BIF has an exotics option, no? Guinea pigs do fall under exotics, so you could select small animal and exotics (or mention you worked occasionally with small exotic mammals). Mixed is typically referring to vets who work with both large and small animals. Hope that helps, and good luck with your application!
