Is anyone else feeling anxious about what we’re supposed to do regarding living situations in the case where we are accepted? From what I can tell, the deadline for applying to res has long passed… is there any living area on campus for ovc students, as our acceptance come out so late?

From what I can tell, the deadline for applying to res has long passed… is there any living area on campus for ovc students, as our acceptance come out so late? I would imagine it’s hard to find a place in residence at this point in time since it usually fills up with first year undergrad students. You could always email someone though! From my knowledge most OVC students live off campus in student houses or apartments, or even the fraternity if that’s your thing. There any many facebook groups dedicated to people looking for roommates or tenants so you won’t be alone in your search once acceptances come out!

It would be unusual to live in the normal residences, most people either live off-campus with friends or other ovc students or at the vet frat

Once you are admitted you will be given access to the OVC Classifieds Facebook Group where upper years post apartments and houses to share. There is also the Cannon and the U of G off campus housing

Don't stress about finding housing! Tons of people dont have a plan of where to live once theyre accepted, and as stated above there are lots of resources to find who/where/what you're looking for. I was one of those people, and I found good quality and affordable housing with good people pretty quickly. TLDR: You will have a place to live <3 take that off the list of things to stress about

It’ll all work out! Don’t stress!

Hello, I wanted to bring this thread back - I’m having a lot of trouble finding housing for myself. Was hoping for some advice! Thanks Have you checked OVC classifieds or the Guelph student housing Facebook page? There are also usually rooms available at the vet frat

I would also just post in your class fb page that you're looking for housing! That's how I found mine. You will likely either find help/roommates within your class, or people with connections with upper years who know people looking for a roommate. I also agree with using ovc classifieds, and the cannon is also a good site (if you're not a uog student and havent heard of it before, it usually has tons of options for housing available for students and you can tailor your searches to what you're looking for!). The vet frat is super cheap and super convenient, but is also very much like first year undergrad residence, so it depends what sort of environment you're hoping for.
