Hey! I just had a question about the course level restriction: "Courses will not be acceptable if they are repeats of previously passed courses, or if they are taken at the same level or a lower level in a subject area than previously passed courses in the same subject area." I take this to mean that if I have taken a Pysc course for example with the course code of 1100 and then take another Psyc at the 1200 level that this second one would not count. I would need to take a Pysc course in the 2000 level for it to count, correct? So just to clarify when they say they cannot be taken at the same or lower level, if I take a 1000 level course I would need to take a 2000 for the second course to count? Thanks!

Hi,
Sorry, I don't have an answer for you, BUT I would also like some explanation w.r.t. what they mean by "same subject area". I thought that if more people want to know, somebody might post something.

Essentially, they don't want you to take the same course twice and then say "look how well I did on that course!" Psych 1100 and 1200 are different courses, and are prerequisites for different psych classes. Actually, I believe one class I took required that I had both. Course codes are not the best thing to go by, as some courses are very close in number but very different in content. If you have a specific worry about a class I would double-check for that specific course.
Something more applicable to this rule, is if you took the CIS 1200 class and then took CIS 1000 you would not be able to use the second one; they are the same course but one doesn't cover the more complicated concepts. However, BIOM 3040 and BIOM 3010 are completely different courses and would both be acceptable courses to use in an application.
