Hello,
I am in my first semester of fourth year and am currently taking one or two classes that I will use as one of the 8 required courses. My question is this: When I request my transcript from my school, should I request that it be uploaded to my OUAC account now, or at the end of the semester? My problem is the "end of term" is listed as December 31st on my university's academic calendar, and so I'm worried it wouldn't upload on time for the January 1st deadline, but then how will OVC get the marks from the classes I am currently taking?

Hey eblack13, Per the " Deadlines for Canadian Applicants" table on the admissions web site ( www.ovc.uoguelph.ca/future/dvm/admissions/academic, almost at the bottom of the page): - The January 1 deadline is only for your OUAC application and MCAT scores
- Transcripts are not due until the March 1 deadline (along with the BIF and references)
So, complete your OUAC application, selecting the transcript option for " At the end of term (including final grades)" and specify the current Fall term. Once this term is over and marks are finalized (end of December or sometime in January, depending on your school), your school will send off your transcript, which should have plenty of time to arrive before March 1. Now, here's a picture of a dancing Ananas because, hey, Téléfrançais was awesome:

Thanks a lot dreizehn, that was very helpful and also entertaining. One more question you can perhaps answer? On my OUAC account, under "activities" they ask me to post all activities in which I participated when I was not attending school full-time. Do you know what they mean by this? Do they mean only the summer, or just the activities in which I participated that aren't during school hours?
Thanks again (I don't have anything as awesome as dancing Anana to post, my apologies)

The "Activities when I was not attending school full-time" section is for those who took a year off between graduation and applying to school. Ex: if you graduated from your undergrad in June and are applying for the class of 2017 and you did not take any other classes this year, you must fill out what you did during that year (jobs, volunteering, community activities, etc.).
If you are in your 3rd or 4th year right now and taking full time semesters, you do not need to fill out that section. (I was un 4th year last year and left this section completely blank)

I'd say puglove's got it: unless you took a year/semester off at some point, you're probably safe to just leave this section blank.
I believe only some schools/programs use this info for their application process, especially for considering mature students who may have spent a long time out of school before reentering. I honestly doubt OVC uses the activities info directly from OUAC though, as anything you might enter in the OUAC activities section you would probably also put on the OVC's own BIF, which covers all your activities in more detail and in the format OVC wants.
