Does anyone know when the 2014 BIF form will become available? January in all likelihood. Last year I believe it was up in early January, around the 10th (in my year it was a bit later, more near the end of January, but that was before they transferred to the current electronic format)

For the BIF is there a way to change you address after you've submitted your BIF. I'm moving in May so I will no longer be getting mail at the address I provided on the ITF and BIF. Being optimistic here. I know acceptance letters are mailed and you need to sign some form to send it back. Is there a way to change my address once I move in May (I still don't know where so I can't put that in as the address)?
Thanks

2 questions:
1) I am in the same boat regarding moving in May is there anyway to change your address so any documentation they send you after may goes there?
2) Is the above form listed the right BIF form? I just ask because nothing is on the ova website about the BIF being up yet
Thanks

All changes to BIF applications must be sent to Deanna Lundmark. When you fill out the application there will be an email to send changes before the March 1 deadline. If you don't know your new address by then, I would just email her if you receive an interview (As interview invitations are only sent to your guelph email). Notification of acceptance is sent by email, webadvisor update, AND by mail so there are plenty of opportunities for you to make arrangements by contacting her between your acceptance in June and your September start date.
Good luck!

On the BIF under the veterinarian experience section there is a spot for the name of the veterinarian, but in clinics there are often more then one DVM are we supposed to put the head of the practice of the veterinarian that we spent the most time with in the name the vet section? If we are supposed to put the vet we spend he most time with and we have 2 references coming from the same clinic should we put the clinic in twice each wight he number of hours you spent with each veterinarian?
Thanks

In terms of the 2500 character limit for the Essay component of the BIF form the 2500 characters does include spaces. This was the case last year anyway.

Thanks I was wondering this too! As well, what is the policy for future experience we will be getting on the BIF. For example I am up for a job at a clinic for summer as well I'll still be volunteering until school is over. Would I just put my experience up to the interview or the application deadline or all the way to the end of the experience I would be getting during the summer? Thanks

I would suggest you put the name of the vet that knows you best as this is where you list YOUR experience. So if we have a question about it we would call the person listed.
You can't put something in that you haven't done yet. You put what you have done until the document is submitted.

I plan to date all my ongoing activities as ending March 1, 2014. Should we use the date that we expect to stop instead?

I did the dairy show at college royal and was planning on putting that as one of my animal experiences. Also, I was planning on putting my experience as a club executive under extracurricular experience. However, you need a contact name/phone number for each experience that can validate that what you are saying is true, and I wasn't exactly sure what to put for both of those? If anyone who has put college royal/club executive on their BIF before could tell me what they put for contact/phone for each that would be great!

I had some club exec stuff on my Bif, and I just put down the university student council for the institution where I did my ugrad since they oversaw the clubs. And maybe just put down a logical contact that can verify your participation at college royal (either bc they know you or bc they can look it up somewhere). Hope that helps.

I have a question for the bif. If I volunteered with a vet one year and worked with them another year should I put both summers on the bif one being in the vet section and one in the work section? What abou a vet I volunteered with in the summer in 2012 and then Did more in 2014. Should I say the full time period even though there's a big gap I wasn't there or just the most recent one of the one that consisted of the most hours

Vet experience can be work or volunteer. If you worked two summers at the same place put that in twice.

I'm working on my BIF and I work at OVC as a telephone student. I'm going to put it under veterinarian experience however, I do not have a veterinarian for the "name of veterinarian" part as they rotate on call, and my supervisor is not a DVM should I put my supervisor or just pick one of the on call veterinarians to put as the name of veterinarian or should I put my supervisor who would be the best validator should something come up and they need to be contacted?
Thanks
