I know that graduate cohort admission is based mostly on the interview but how are the applicants that are invited for an interview selected from the cohort? Is it like the undergrad cohort 40(last-two semester gpa)/40(pre-req)/20(MCAT)...but on a smaller scale?

Hi Oncovet,
I think that they look at everything (academic performance, reference letters, BIF) when inviting for interviews...then the interview is the deciding factor. But as everything else with Grad cohort applications...there isn't as much info as for the undergrad pool.

the additional sections are really important, including your publications and conference participation (presentations). they tend to pick individuals that will continue in graduate work/academia/research after completing vet school.

Does anybody know if we can use graduate instead of undergraduate courses for the prereq classes?

Actually now you can as long as you get the content approved!

Does academic performance mean the averages from undergrad? I did not get in this year and am wondering if it is a good idea to do a MSc degree then apply again if my undergrad marks were not good enough this year.

The graduate pool is not a back door way to get into the program. Your marks in undergrad and your graduate program are all considered plus your performance as a graduate student.

How much do they weigh your grades from your undergrad when you are a graduate student? Currently I am a graduate student and was going to apply this upcoming January and unfortunately my undergrad grades are not the best, however I have a lot of experience, good grad school grades and plan to have two papers published by the time I apply. How do they decide who gets interviews in terms of graduate students? Thanks!

You must still have over the 75% minimum to apply.
