Hey Everyone!
Quick question here pertaining the, " Courses will not be acceptable if they are repeats of previously passed courses, or if they are taken at the same level or a lower level in a subject area than previously passed courses in the same subject area." Hypothetically lets say someone took 3 stats courses (because why not, we all love stats don't we?) , stats 2040(stats I ) 2nd year , stats 2050 (stats II ) 3rd year, and then lets say, Stats 3510 (env risk assessment) in fourth year. Lets say your best mark was in the Stats 2050. Do you think you could still use the STAT 2050 even though the 3rd year stats was taken?
Unless I am mistaken, it's to my understanding the way the way it works is if someone took a 3rd year stats class first, then took a 2nd year stats and did better in the 2nd year class they could not use that mark, or, if someone took a 2nd year intro to statistics, and lets say a 2nd year stats for bio this wouldn't be allowed?
Thanks,
Kyle!

Hey Kyle,
You can select as a pre-req any course level as long as you follow the other rules. So even if you took a 3rd year course in stats, you can use the 2nd year one if the grade is better. You can only use that 2nd year course because you took it before the 3rd year one.
Having said that, when you have doubts about course contents and approvals, your best bet is to contact Ms. Lundmark and get the courses approved. The least thing you want is not being able to apply for failing to get a course approved.
Good luck

Hey Aj,
Another quick question. I know if you take a 4 year class then a 3rd year class you have to use the 4 year but what if the 3rd year is the same subject, but different subject area (i.e. 4th year molecular genetics and 3rd year population genetics) I would think because it's a different subject area (population vs molec) you would be ok? But the best person to ask would be Ms.Lundmark.

Yes ask Ms. Lundmark. You cannot have courses with the same content.

So when you say you cannot have repeating content does that mean if you take a course in a semester that may repeat content from a previous course will that make your full time semester unacceptable?
