So I know there are 8 pre-req courses we need to choose.
Obviously, we are advised to choose the 8 highest marks - but does this also have to conform to their rule: "Courses will not be acceptable if they are repeats of previously passed courses, or if they are taken at the same level or a lower level in a subject area than previously passed courses in the same subject area. This includes courses with significant overlap in content. Students should consider their institution's course sequencing in determining if a course is considered the same level."
This is somewhat hard to say in my case because there are so many different courses I have taken. Cell biology may be a 3rd year course where I studied cell physiology? Or could it be human physiology? Or the first year course - cell biology? I'm trying to figure out what my average might be.
So in terms of the humanities requirement, what if I have a 3rd year history course, but say a political science 1st year course has a higher mark. Am I able to submit the mark for the political science course?
Thanks for your help!

You take SOC101 and get a 90%; then you take SOC201 and get an 80%. You use SOC101 for the prereq (lol or use both).

Ok, so that would bring me to another inquiry. I have a Biostatistics course (3rd year lvl BIOL course) - BIOL300 for those of you who are familiar with UBC. Anyways, if I was to take the math-dedicated STAT200, could I use that as my fulfillment/mark for the statistics prereq? Unfortunately, I took the biostat when I was having a rough time and it didn't work out in my favor. I didn't bomb it, but it would lower my pre-req average by about 2% overall. Edit: Datass, would that not contradict their requirement of not accepting courses which are taken at a lower level within the same topic of study?

The whole point is that you don't take courses with content that was already covered in another course. That would inflate your mark.
If BIOL300 and STAT200 cover the same (more or less) content. Then you cannot take 1 after the other. It does not matter, in this case, if you hypothetically took the 2nd year course first, then the 3rd year - the problem is overlapping content. If they don't cover the same content, then (assuming Lundmark approves it), you would be able to take it and use it as a prereq.
If you were to take STAT200 (and it covers the same content as BIOL300), you would NOT be able to use it as the stats pre-req. What's more is that your WHOLE semester may be deemed 'invalid' due to the content repeat.
In one of my course evaluations I submitted a course for pre-approval. Context: I took CSB349 in one year, was going to take MGY420 next year. This is part of the response I got:
...personally I didn't think the content was similar but didn't bother appealing and just took another course instead.
Your options for stats are now to take a non-introductory stats course for the prereq.
