I'm not applying this year but I will be in 2021. Is anyone applying from a PhD program?

I was wondering if anyone had insight on how they the application pool for Grads works when comparing Msc and PhD? I'm currently in a Msc and feel that I'd be less of a competitive applicant compared to the avergae PhD since the site states: ' In particular, the number of publications is highly regarded'. Does any consideration go into grad degree or just number of publications? Thank you!

I think you get points for publications and conferences. Though you also may get points for funding and finishing on time...not sure though! I got rejected last year because of my comparably lower 'grad productivity' even though i had 2 publications + 8 or 9 conferences. That being said, i didn't have OGS/ NSERC and it took me 3 years to finish my MSC.

mugsy09 your productivity was compared to the pool at the time and compared to other applicants your productivity may have been lower. It really depends on who applies into this cohort each year. I'm not sure where you would get the idea that we look at funding or finishing time since we don't ask for this information anywhere in the application. We ask for scholarships as this is a measure of your achievement. We ask this of the undergrad cohort as well.

I did not finish my master's 'on time' and was worried about that. Glad to know that is not factored in.

Closer to your assigned interview date you will receive an email that gives you an overview of how the interview will run (duration, a brief indication of topics that could be discussed in the interview, location, confirmed time, etc). Good luck to those who received an interview and have fun!

Does anyone know what the dress code is for the interview/what they plan on wearing?
Thanks!
