Hi all,
For anyone currently in the application process for the class of 2021, I'm wondering how many hours of vet/animal experience you have?
Thanks!

Almost 6 years, so just under 10000. I think they care mostly about grades.

There are so many indicators of academic success, I feel as though your first statement is subjective? And there is more to being a successful veterinarian than academic success. Finally, years ago people got in with grades in the 70's, so I doubt today's applicants that are getting rejected with low 80's can be deemed as academically unsuccessful.

If you are accepted into OVC, you will probably find a wide gamut of grades and experience. It seems grades are the primary factor, but experience may have your back in an interview.

Hey! Also remember quality over quantity. A million hours of just walking dogs is cool, but its better to have multiple different animal experiences to show that you have tried to immerse yourself in the vet profession, as well as animals in general, even if you don't have a million hours each
