I'm planning on gaining my residency by spending 3 summers (12 months) volunteering (without post-secondary) in Ontario. I'm a bit worried because the OVC admissions website is a bit vague on this matter ("If you lived in Ontario as a child or worked in the province for 12 months' worth of summers, that may suffice.") If it "may suffice," do they mean there's a possibility that I may not qualify as an applicant?
-->Has anyone encountered any problems or gained qualification as an Ontario resident in this way? -->When applying to OVC, what kind of documents (volunteer letters, rent/utility/phone bills?) are needed to prove residency?
Thanks a lot guys!!!

I had to go through with proofing my residency here last time and it is pretty straight forward.
The way i did it was i took 8 months of kindergarten here when i was a kid and i also took a semester of last fall. I had the school give me an transcript stating the days i was there. I was also working during my semester off so i asked my boss to write me a letter with what position i was working as, how long have i been working there and the address of the cafe.
I sent this to them a couple weeks i finished my BIF and they count it by weeks. So u will be looking at proof for 52 weeks.
I assume getting proof by volunteering would be the same as my empolyment but i have also heard a lease for a place in ontario could work. Not very sure about that because i did not comfirm with the admission office but i hope this helps!
