I understand they are now accepting passes for 1.0 credits in the Winter 20 Semester. I was wondering if having a pass on the semester would affect the way your application is viewed? Would it be a more competitive application if it was still a good average with no passes (my current semester average is a 92) or if I were to pass a course and raise the average of the semester and raise the overall average (including the perquisites and fall semester) I am submitting to program slightly?

OVC released an official response in regards to pass/fail in the W20 semester. I linked it below! If you are specifically asking about the competitiveness of your application, I don't think anyone that isn't on the admissions board could answer that. You can email admdvm@uoguelph.ca if you wanted a more concrete answer.

I don't know the answer to this officially, but I imagine if the admissions committee has agreed to allow students to apply with a certain number of passes within the semester, they wouldn't discriminate against students who have done so. They generally suggest to do whatever gives you the best application average, as long as it follows the rules they've laid out.
