During the debrief session, Elizabeth mentioned that there was no penalty for having 3 references from the same clinic. I was always told 1 needed to be from a different place. Has this changed due to covid?
I have other vet experience, however at the clinic I currently work at, I get along with the staff/doctors really well and feel they would give me the best references out of others I could ask.
Thanks for any insight!

Several of my classmates had references from the same clinic/institution (OVC faculty/ residents or vets from same private practice) so it's definitely not a dealbreaker.
What can be a dealbreaker is if one of those references is even a little bit lukewarm and gets you flagged. Your first priority IMO should be to select people who can unreservedly attest to your competence and potential as a veterinary student, and know you well enough to provide examples of how you have demonstrated your competence.

Thanks for the insight 2024turtle! I'll email admissions just to make sure. I'm leaning towards using all three since they've all said they'd provide me with glowing references:)

Would a red flag from one of the reference letters be considered before or after the interview stage? I interviewed last year but was not accepted and want to make sure I don't reuse one of my referee if there's any possibility it was due to a red flag in their letter.

All applications are reviewed before the interview.
