Honestly I’m not sure if they normally validate your experience unless it looks suspicious. I had a cousin down as a validator for the work I did on my family farm (different last name), and OVC didn’t contact him or any of my other validators. Obviously you shouldn’t lie but it doesn’t seem to be as important as your vet references

Hi everyone, I am under the assumption that you cannot use a friend or family member that is a DVM as one of your references. However, are you allowed to use a family member for one of your validators for your animal experience hours? For a little more context: I grew up on a farrow to finish swine farm, and have spent many hours working on the farm as a paid worker. My "boss" would be considered by parents. I am wondering if I can/should use either of their names and contact info as a validator? Thanks in advance! Hey! I used my dad as a validator for my farm experience and there were no issues with this. However, this was not for animal experience (we have a veggie farm). I don't think it should be an issue - just someone to vouch that you actually did work there, and did the things you said you did. Hopefully Elizabeth or someone else can confirm this for you! - a Topaz Turtle
