Hi I was wondering any students accepted into the graduate cohort could explain the application process to me a bit more. In terms of your academic average is your undergraduate average no longer considered and your graduate GPA would be used? Additionally, how many publications, awards, and presentations did successful candidates have. I know for competitive application a fair amount is required but, i'm wondering how this can be achieved in only three semesters?

Hi I was wondering any students accepted into the graduate cohort could explain the application process to me a bit more. In terms of your academic average is your undergraduate average no longer considered and your graduate GPA would be used? Additionally, how many publications, awards, and presentations did successful candidates have. I know for competitive application a fair amount is required but, i'm wondering how this can be achieved in only three semesters? I cannot answer all of your questions. But it is my understanding that they still look at the average of your last two full time semesters as well as the average of your 8 prerequisite courses to calculate your average. They also look at your graduate level marks, but separately. And they take both into consideration. I think for the amount of presentations, publications and awards successful candidates have, it varies greatly year-to-year, but also within the same year. I have heard that they also still take into account your vet and animal experience, as well as references, and of course, interview, if you get that far. It is my understanding that research productivity is important, but not the only determining factor for an interview and/or admission. Also, full disclosure, I was not accepted into the graduate cohort, but I applied last year, and this is just what I have heard.
