I prepared last year by writing out typical questions that I get asked at interviews like conflict scenarios, strengths, explaining the qualities I gained from the experiences on my BIF, etc. It gave me the chance to reflect and have answers at the forefront of my mind during the interview! I also found this technique benefited me for the CASPer too Good luck!

Hi gryph25, I might be dating myself a bit now, but I applied to OVC via the graduate cohort back in 2016 and my interview format I assume is somewhat similar to the new VPI portion. I used a technique very similar to classof2024, but also practised verbalizing my answers to anyone who was willing to listen. I did a lot of Skype sessions with friends who were already admitted to professional school (medical, dental, optometry) and had them ask me a series of questions and critique my answers. Additionally, I hired an external coach who worked with me on effective ways to organize my responses. Ultimately the prep paid off! Good luck this application cycle!

Hi! I just wanted to let everyone know that last year we were allowed a piece of paper with notes for the VPI - it helped me because I'm a bit of a scatterbrain so I was able to make sure I was touching on everything I wanted to talk about for each question! Hopefully this cycle will be able to have that option too.
