Im a bit confused on the interview format, i know they said its like an MMI in the sense that they will not reply so will be asked MMI like scenario/ethical questions? Or will questions be more based on the information provided from the BIF, so more like the BIF interview they did last year?

The email says they will ask questions based on the BIF so I would assume no major ethical questions especially since it’s only 20 minutes.

I think what they mean is it’s like the mmi in that they are prewritten questions and no real interaction with the interviewer. I interviewed a couple years ago when it was still in person and there was one BIF station where they had your BIF in front of you and asked a couple questions about your experiences.

Does anyone have any information regarding how long we will have to answer each question? I know for the MMI it was 8 min per question in previous years. I was wondering if this is what they meant in the email when they said it would be like the MMI.

As a heads up, last year I think they asked us 3-5 questions only. It’s like an mmi because they don’t really respond to your answers in any way. They didn’t tell us how many questions you’d have before hand so some people’s interviews were pretty short because we were expecting more questions. They will repeat the questions if you ask

Does anyone know if we will have time after they ask the question to joint down notes, or are we expected to answer immediately similar to a job interview? Thank you.

If it's anything like last year, it will be like a job interview. There is no time to write the questions down, and no reason to either. You are not allowed to record the session and should be answering the question right away...

I did the interview last year when I applied and it was similar the BIF station in person. They ask like 3-4 set questions and it’s just similar to the MMI where it’s more you presenting an answer where they don’t really interact with you rather then a discussion. Hope that helps!

Are we allowed notes or our BIF to reference?

You should know your BIF inside and out...Ask yourself this: Would you bring a "cheat sheet" to a real in person interview?
Good luck to everyone this week!

Are we allowed notes or our BIF to reference? I asked prior to beginning the interview and was allowed to use notes to refer to last year during my interview

Does anyone know if we get to introduce ourselves in the beginning of the interview or does it jump straight into questions?

Does anyone know if we get to introduce ourselves in the beginning of the interview or does it jump straight into questions? From the email entitled "OVC-DVM Interview Invitation Step 2 - RESPONSE REQUIRED" "The assessors will join the meeting at your scheduled interview time. The two assessors will introduce themselves and confirm your name and you may introduce yourself. The assessors will then ask you questions about the information contained in your Background Information Form. You will have up to 20 minutes (30 minutes for graduate cohort) to respond to their questions."
