I noticed that on the OVC website it's recommended that potential biological sciences prerequisites have an emphasis on animal biology. I was wondering if this emphasis on animal biology is required for a potential biological sciences prerequisite course to be approved? For example, is it possible for a nutrition course that primarily focuses on human nutrition to still fulfill the prerequisite?

I think the "emphasis" statement is more of a suggestion than an absolute requirement. If you are a Guelph student, you'll see that there are a variety of courses that can be used as Bio Science pre-reps under the approved electives document - www.ovc.uoguelph.ca/recruitment/en/applyingtodvm/resources/Acceptable-Courselist-Current.pdfAs a Guelph student, I used a "human" nutrition course (NUTR3330) as one of my pre-recs. Good luck!
