Confused where I put my job as a veterinary receptionist. Does it fall under the veterinary experience heading, animal experience, or other employment experience?

Hi! It depends what experience you had as a veterinary receptionist. Veterinary experience is specifically an experience you had working directly with the vet. Every clinic's dynamic is different, some receptionists stay at the desk and talk to incoming clients or answer the phone. Some also fill prescriptions, gather a history, assist technicians, etc. If you worked directly with a vet (e.g. help hold patients for them, do appointments with them, observe surgeries, shadow, etc.) where they could provide a good, personal reference about their experience with you, then yes it would fall under veterinary experience. But if you only dealt with the vet in passing, you would be safer considering it animal experience. On the BIF, it asks under vet experience how many hours were spent with the vet directly and how many hours at the clinic itself. If you can easily answer the number of hours with the vet directly, then you should be fine!

It is usually extracurricular since reception may not involve animal handling
