HI! I'm a non-traditional student with a degree in Finance and I recently decided to finally take the leap and change my career track to pursue my dream of being a Vet. Unfortunately I made the decision just after OVC's August deadline for pre-req course evaluation for winter'24 classes. So I'm wondering if I should submit the eval for the Dec 15 deadline in hopes to hear back on time for the Jan 2024 classes?
2nd question- since I am a non-traditional student I am trying to work out how to meet the 60/40 rule having already a degree and more than 10 credits in my business degree. One conflict I foresee would be that I have already done a business Statistics course (might have been 2), but I have to retake a stats course as 2 of my backup Vet schools mandates that classes are only valid for 10 years. So will the semester I retake this class in be invalid for OVC?
3rd question- Back in undergrad I never took summer courses so I am wondering if in general, universities like Guelph/York/McMaster have enough courses available to do full time + 2.5 credits course load as per OVCs requirements?
Appreciate any feedback I can get on this!

You really should work with admdvm@uoguelph.ca on this instead of posting here .... but here are some quick answers

You should definitely go through the process of verifying what courses can be used for entry so you don't unnecessarily take courses.

Yes a retake of a stats course would invalidate the whole semester for OVC. Our rules say no significant overlap so you'd have to take the next level up. BUT you can take it alone if it is for another school. Also, if you don't have any sciences you do need to start at first year level. It would be best to work with the registrar to get permission to have the 60/40 rule not apply in your case so you can take first year science courses.

You can combine online and in person courses.
Appreciate any feedback I can get on this!
