Hi All, I completed my undergrad degree a few years ago, and was thinking about going back this fall to upgrade some of the classes I would be using as pre-reqs.
I read on the OVC applicants website that: "Applicants with a degree who have a documented commitment, such as work or family responsibility, can present their case to the Admission Committee requesting the option of completing their academic requirements on a part-time basis."
My reason for asking to only be part time would be because I am currently pregnant and I am due (first child) on August 17th. If the baby comes late a week or two I'd pretty much be starting the semester right after the birth, but regardless I'd be caring for a new born at the start of the semester pretty much.
Do you think this would be an acceptable reason at all? Thx

Sorry one more thing... because of my situation, would it be possible at all to ask if I could complete courses in the Winter semester and still have them count for the 2014 application, that way I wouldn't have such a newborn and I could maybe take a full time semester then?
Or would it be possible to take Fall and Winter part time and then have both count at all?
Sorry I'm really clueless about this right now and trying to figure out the best plan of action.

Hi Cat2012
Yes you can make an appeal but do it before you enter part time studies. Provide a doctor's letter as well.
As for Fall vs Winter courses it clearly states on our website that all requirements must be done by December 31st. So no winter semester will count for a September entry.

Thanks. I have one more question regarding this, how many courses count for part time, and what percentage of those courses would have to be senior level?

This must be worked out with Deanna Lundmark. It depends on what you've done so far. You can't repeat courses or take courses that have the same content. You should always take the highest level of a course you are able to take. For us anything less than 5 courses per semester is not full time so you need to appeal taking one course per semester up to four.
