I'm strongly considering pursuing a masters degree next year before I apply to vet school. I'm looking for some advice from successful graduate students...I'm not sure whether I should stay at Guelph or go elsewhere?

Hi Oncovet
Email me directly and I'll forward it to one of my grad cohort students going into 2nd year of the vet school.

HI all!
I'm thinking about doing graduate school and then applying for vet school. However, I was wondering if it matters what we do our graduate work in i.e. does it have to be in the veterinary medicine field? I am wanting to do graduate work in a biology lab but am not sure if that makes me a weaker candidate when applying for vet school? I was just wondering if most of the graduate students accepted did their research in a particular field or is it pretty fair game in terms of what you choose to study.
Any help would be much appreciated!

If you look at the form grad cohort applicants fill in - it doesn't ask about what you did with animals. Any grad program that would allow you to fill the form in with lots of good stuff is fine.
