Hello,
So as I understand it you must have 4 full time semesters completed to apply. I transferred to U of G in my third year and am about to apply to OVC this cycle. However, upon looking back at my transcripts from my previous university (which is on a 3/6 instead of 0.5/1 credit basis), I am now concerned because the semester I thought to have been full time actually contained only 4 courses, not 5. However the number of credits for that semester totals to 16 credits (one of the courses was a "full credit" of 6 instead of 3.
This is the breakdown of that semester for clarification:
PSYCH - 6.0 credits (full term, thus 3.00 per semester)
APBIO - 6.0 credits (for that semester)
CHEM - 4.0 credits
MICB - 3.0 credits
For a weird total of 16 (my school did things strangely I guess)
as per the OVC website:
"Full-time is a minimum five one-semester courses, for example 2.5 credits at the University of Guelph or 15 credit hours at a US school."
"A full-time semester (full course load) is minimum 2.50 credits at the University of Guelph. This is typically five courses at 0.50 credits each per semester. While 2.00 credits may still be considered full-time status, 2.50 credits are required for DVM purposes. For universities that use the 3.00/6.00 credit system, students must have five courses weighted at least 3.00 credits each for a minimum total of 15.00 credits per semester. (International students from the US should take a minimum of 15.00 credit hours per semester). "
** the bolding is mine, to show what I am concerned about **
According to this, I *think I should be alright? This meets the 15 credit requirement, however it was still only 4 courses ... not 5 ...
So if someone could help me with my interpretation that would be much appreciated. I shall also be inquiring with Deanna Lundmark just to be safe!
