Just wanted some input on how to list a couple of things on the BIF.
I've been tutoring for a long time, but I'm not sure who I should put to validate this? Do we always have to list someone as a validator? I didn't think one of my long term students would be appropriate.
Also, I was a member of the pre-vet club at my school, but I'm not sure who to use to validate this. The club president?
Thanks for everyone's insight.

We usually ask for a supervisor - like the volunteer coordinator or the faculty advisor for the club.

Thank you, I've contacted the club and am looking into it.
How should I proceed in terms of listing my tutoring experience?

how about for extracurricular activities such as sports and stuff that you do not really have a validator for? For example, I play in a winter volleyball league but don't have a coach or anything to that degree?

The point of having extracurriculars is so that you can describe activities where you worked or volunteered and showed team work, leadership, communication skills, etc.
It is not meant to be a listing of your hobbies or things that you were a passive participant in (such as an event).
For sports if you were not part of a league and there was no coach you must decide who can speak to your involvement.

I am a mature student who is changing careers and hopefully moving into vetmed. I have a question regarding background information. I am curious who I put as a validator for a position I held 5-10 years ago. I am not sure if my direct supervisor still works for the same company and we are not currently in touch. Is it appropriate to give the contact information of HR for the company so they can look up old records?
Thanks!

Yes HR would have the record of you working there.

Hey, I hope this is still visible, I know it's an old thread!
I have a similar question. I've mentioned before I'm a graduate student, and am on the student council in various capacities. We do not have "supervision" by any professors at the university, as we are a self-governing body with funding from the university. Who would I put as a supervisor? I mean, a professor who was there and saw what I've done for the council (e.g. the department head) could potentially just sign off on those hours for me, but that would feel dishonest, as I simply don't have a supervisor. The closest thing would be one of the PhD students who is the student council president.

Hi there,
I ran my own small company throughout highschool pet sitting, would it be appropriate to have one of my long term clients act as a validator? Also, how important are exact dates? A lot of my experience was done a few years ago and I can only approximate the exact date I finished, is this acceptable or is it very important to be exact?
