Hey everyone,
So my webadvisor status changed to refused admission. I know I haven't received and email or letter yet but I was just wondering (probably wishful thinking) if there's still a way for that to change. Like is there a waiting list if someone chooses to decline their offer etc? Was just wondering and congrats to those who were accepted!

The chance is so small consider the rejection as being set in stone. I definitely am.

there has been 1 person for the class of 2017 and 1 for the class of 2018 that I know of that have gained admission after acceptances had already been released.

It's rare that people will refuse their offer of admission but it does happen. In that case the next in line will get an offer.

Bummed out I didn't get in. It was my third time applying and I felt it was my strongest application yet.
It's pretty much set in stone, very rarely will you hear someone refusing their admission. If it happens, whoever was next in line will get a call from OVC.

@xguest and @77777, I didn't apply this year but it saddens me to see people not being accepted even after 3 applications... I wish there were better ways to deal with this but I wish you both the best for your next application...

The first year I applied I was surprised I got an interview, second year I was really nervous during the interview, and this time around I was so confident I walked out smiling haha. All the best in your future applications! I don't think I'm going to try for the last time. @0999 It's the nature of the beast! It's a really competitive school to get into. A province of 12 million+ people and only one vet school.

Did you guys do anything to improve your app? I was in the same boat and luckily got in the 3rd time but improved my marks alot and experience. I know how hard rejection is especially when you sacrificed a lot for it.

There are always other opportunities to pursue! If it really is your dream then continue to go for it.
Take a look at your interview scores and see if you can improve there, or maybe boost marks to make up for it. MCAT is gone now, so no need to worry about that at least!

Ya its tough, and I am in my late 20's which makes "trying again in another year" seem much more difficult. @xguest...do you mind me asking if you are planning on applying to other schools or pursue a different career?

Man I am going to have to apply as a non-degree student to do another fall semester (Thank god decision came so early this... My non-degree application cutoff was June 1st)
Great thing about applying as a non-degree student is that all the courses will be full by the time selection opens for me. Of course I am not from UofG so despite this crap I have to somehow approve my semester/courses.
I am probably going to go insane waiting another year. What a terrible day D:

I did a non-degree semester at Guelph (did my undergrad at a different uni) and finally got in this year, 3rd time around! Highly recommend doing another semester, it goes by quick and is so worth it.

I was wondering that as well too! Also, when will the admission stats be uploaded?

The Cohort stats won the up till August (thats when they were released last year) This is because, to my knowledge they haven't even had the grad cohort interviews, so without admitting the whole class they can't realize the stats.

Is there a facebook group or somewhere where the class of 2019 DVM students can contact one another? I feel it would be useful for finding potential roommates for sept! Also is therw on campus housing available for first year DVM students or no?
