Thanks for the update on the grad cohort admissions. If one of the members knows an applicant do they see the application or do they step out of the room?

Since the interviews are planned in advance the committee members declare conflicts beforehand.

Lowenger, do applicants have the ability to declare a conflict if they feel an interviewer may be biased? How does that work if you enter the room and the interview has technically begun? Thanks

Yes they can. Usually the MMI interviewers declare if they know the candidate and we replace them for that shift.
For grad cohort the interviewer must say if they feel there is a conflict.
But keep in mind that the interview scoring are based on a grid that leaves very little room for bias.

Thanks, Lowenger. So if the MMIs are on a continuous timeline and an applicant declares a conflict, is someone swapped in immediately (interview ends up shorter) or is there another station added to the end?
I understand the rubric minimizing bias, but it is nice to know this option exists, especially since being uncomfortable with a given interviewer may negatively impact interview performance.

I believe I answered your question above. We replace the interviewer for the one student
