Hi all,
I'm working with a couple pathologists and I was wondering if anyone knew if they were suitable to use as a reference for the application. They are all DVM's but they do not practice in a clinic.

I was also wondering the same thing, if I have a reference that has a DVM degree but is not actively working as a vet can I still use them as a vet reference? Also, does the quality of your vet reference matter? As in, how competent the vet is at their job, or what others have said about them, etc... thanks..!

Hey stressedprevet, in case you still weren't too sure, the link lowenger posted above states "Referee Assessments (submitted directly by the referee) 3 letters - 2 from DVMs with whom the candidate has worked/volunteered, and one other professional." This means they do not have to be practicing in a clinic so you are allowed to use your pathologists as references! |

just adding on to the above question, does it matter if I have a new grad vet as a reference as compared to an older vet with more experience? or does it not matter as long as they have a license and are currently practicing? thanks!

I believe that as long as they have been practising and have a licence you should be good to go.

I believe that as long as they have been practising and have a licence you should be good to go. Actually they don't have to be licensed since you only need a license if you are involved in clinical practice. DVMs in industry and research don't need to be licensed. |
