Gap year between applications?

I'm doing my honours thesis this coming year, and so my F17 semester won't contribute to my "last two full-time semesters" because it's a full year course. If I wanted to take a year off to apply to OVC in order to use my F17 and W18 semesters as my last two full-time, is that allowed? I was always under the impression you must apply while you're still attending your undergrad?
