Hi there! From the selection process section of the OVC website, I found the following information about the final rankings:
Stage 4: Final Review and Ranking:
Each applicant's final admissions score is calculated using a 65:35 ratio as follows:
65% is the Stage 1 admissions average
35% is the interview score
Does any one know whether our references/animal experience hours have an impact on our final rankings as well (after the interviews)? Or are they just to secure moving on to the interview stage?

From what I have experienced, your references/animal experience are what help you to get to the interview stage. I have heard that your references play a huge role in whether or not you get an interview. Your experiences will also help you to answer the interview questions. Best of luck!

Hi anxiousovc,
Unfortunately references/animal experience and other hours do not impact rankings. They are used largely to confirm there are no red flags with an applicant (eg a bad reference), and will not affect where you are ranked numerically compared to your peers.
Hope that helps, good luck, and deep breaths <3
