Im currently in high school and browsing through programs that will help preapre me for OVC. I want to go into a COOP program at guelph so I can make money while going to school but I'm not sure which one is best. Also, will I need to do an extra year of undergrad to apply to OVC since it is COOP? Thank you for your time.

Hi Emily,
My greatest suggestion would be choosing a program that you will enjoy!! In the end, it really doesn't matter what program you're in, as long as you've completed the necessary prerequisites. Remember, you can also take on a part-time job during a regular/non-coop program, so you can still make money no matter what program you're in!
I believe coop work-terms are usually during the summers, as well as your third and fifth years of undergrad. To apply to OVC, you only need to complete 2 years of undergrad (so most people will apply for the first time in their third year of undergrad). So no, you don't need to do an extra year of undergrad to apply to OVC. BUT, you do have to do an extra year of undergrad (five years) to graduate from a coop program, whereas you only need to do four years to graduate from a regular program.
I hope this helps!
