Hello,
I am a non-traditional candidate who works fulltime and has a bachelors degree unrelated to biology. I have some prerequisites that I need to complete in order to apply. I am wondering if I will need to leave my job to complete them in a fulltime semester or if I am able to complete the prerequisites part time? I understand that I would need to make an appeal to admissions, however, I am wondering if anyone has experience doing this?
If it is possible, would my fulltime semester average come from my previous degree, while my prerequisite average would be the combination of future part time courses and fulltime prerequisites from the previous degree?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Aboose1234
This information is on our website and yes you will need to go through the academic consideration process. There's a deadline for August 1st that would be the earliest one from today.
Many people have gone through this process, which was designed with folks like you in mind!
Your "fulltime semester average comes from my previous degree, while my prerequisite average would be the combination of future part time courses and fulltime prerequisites from the previous degree" ... as long as the courses have been approved. Just be mindful of the 60/40 rule.

The one question I have is, if an academic consideration request was approved, would that approval be valid for all future application cycles, or would I need to submit the same request each cycle? Thank you!

HI It goes in your file and is applied to any application Hi lowenger , I had a few questions about the above. First, I noticed you said there is an upcoming deadline of August 1st, but on the website it's showing the deadline was July 1st for an August consideration. Is this true? Secondly, the website indicates that a request would likely be declined if reasons are relating to financial constraints. In my case, I'm unable to financially support myself if I don't work a full 40 hours, and I can't feasibly take a full time semester while doing this. Is it worth submitting a form?

Hi
For the first question, the deadline is July 31 at 11:59PM so we have it by August 1st.
I would say that for the second you could make your case and provide evidence since we certainly don't want finances to be a barrier to apply.
