These are kind of fun. My average is a 92%, I don’t have my Casper mark back yet. Share if you’d like!
Also, does anyone think the average is going to go down now that we’re way far out from Covid/online classes?

Checking back on the other posts from last year, I feel mainly those with higher average post them here so please don't get discouraged if you have a lower average. I also have a 92% with some decimals, and I'm waiting on my Casper. This is my first time applying. Domestic cohort, undergrad

This is my second application, 93.375 average and 4th quartile Casper. Got rejected after my interview last year with a 91.95 and 3rd quartile Casper. Anyways, I sure hope I get in at some point, even if it's not this cycle cause I literally don't know what other professions I'm interested in.

93 and second quartile! Does anyone think that second quartile still has a shot? I know one person in my class with a 2nd quartile but their average was 95 so it could be possible!

The averages not being shared by OVC anymore has been addressed by Elizabeth Lowenger in a previous post. Essentially (from what I understand) it was that they do not want to prevent anyone from applying because they think there is no hope.

Also marks mean nothing once you're in. I'm not struggling in any phase I courses and everyone who is struggling likely had a higher application average than me. Just keep working hard and focus on yourself.

What kind of experiences and references did you have?

What kind of experiences and references did you have? Vet School wasn't on my radar during undergrad and when I finished my 4th year I got hired to help start a non-profit vet clinic. I worked as a technician assistant for 3 years where I spent most of my time assisting in surgical procedures and being able to practice a lot of hands on skills with shelter animals. It was really good for hands on experience since we'd be doing 10-20 surgeries, multiple dentals, and 8 hours of consultations simultaneously everyday. After a couple years, the vets at my clinic helped me determine that vet med was a career I could see myself in and convinced me to apply to OVC last year. My references were one of the vets that I worked with consistently with for 3 years, a vet that taught at the Atlantic Veterinary College that I worked with for a couple years, and a regional representative for a corporate veterinary company.
