I am currently doing a 5th year to get the remainder of my pre-reques. Since I'll only finish all my courses in April 2012, I won't be able to apply to Guelph until January 2013 to start Sept 2013.
I've been doing research projects for about 3 years now and I wanted to enroll in a 2 year research Masters program starting September 2012 and ending April 2014.
Here's the question: If I apply to Guelph with the undergrad cohort in Jan 2013 and am admitted to start in Sept 2013, will I be able to defer my admission until I finish my Masters and start Sept 2014 (without having to reapply as a Grad student)?
Thank you!

Thank you, that's rather disheartening. I remember that in the video debriefing session, for last year (or 2 years ago), they only had 99 places because somebody in the previous year deferred, so I thought they had a similar situation.

They deferred due to illness in the family. Deferrals are only in the instance of extreme circumstance. Deciding to finish a degree is not this.

I actually know a number of individuals (half a dozen with a few from different phases) that are finishing their Masters while in vet school. Side note - if you do have an extreme circumstance and have to defer a year of studies, you can only do so once during your time at OVC.. so if you have to defer your third year and things don't turn out the way you expected them to and you need another year off or need to defer your fourth year, you can't.. you'll have to either suck it up or say goodbye to OVC (although I don't personally know anyone that this has happened to). Whether you can reapply and start over is a completely different question.. I don't think they've ever had that happen. Most people pull through
