It will be the same as last year I imagine, ~88/89 for admitted.

90 & 92. And 2 publications. Though there will likely be a sample bias, where people that have good marks are more likely to share them.

2 semesters: 82 Pre-reqs: 83.6 I'm terribly upset that this past semester did not go as planned, and significantly lowered that mark for me

I agree, I think it'll be around 88/89 again. If anyone is willing to share, what kinds of experience do you have?

From what I've heard from successful applicants, you're pretty much guaranteed to get in if you have a 90+ average, even if you completely bomb the interview.

I know numerous people that applied last year with averages above 90% and they were not confident with their interviews and were not accepted. Of course having high marks gives you a better chance, but it does not guarantee you a spot.

That's a great point vet1234, I believe they are looking for variety and quality and that's why they aren't emphasizing the quantity as much (that was my impression from reading the website and listening to Ms. Lowenger's or other vet students' presentations).

I am applying for the second time this year
Pre-Req:94 Last 2 Semesters: 95
I also got a 75 on my interview last year and didn't get accepted. So, you're definitely not guaranteed with a 90+ average.

Ah! That is really discouraging to hear and I'm sorry that happened to you... You definitely had the grades to be accepted and I would've thought a score of 75 for the interview would get you a spot in the top 100 for sure. Did you feel you did badly on your interview, or were you surprised at the 75 they gave you? How do you think you could have improved your interview?

That's very surprising! I wonder why you weren't accepted. What kind of vet experience did you have?

There were people (myself included) that were accepted last year with lower composite scores than what futurevet listed. Please don't feel discouraged or intimidated if your grades are lower. There may have been an issue completely unrelated to the raw numbers that had to be taken into account, though I can't really speculate what that might be. Either way, I wish everyone the best of luck in the application process and interviews. If you're looking for interview tips, the Mock MMIs held by the Future Vets Club and the Intro to Veterinary Medical Ethics book by Rollin are both excellent resources.

That's actually kind of a relief. What were your marks if you don't mind me asking? Some of the successful applicants from last year (including me) posted their statistics here. I had slightly higher marks than the average so I had some cushioning in case my interview was not the greatest (which it wasn't!), but as you can see lower marks can be (and have been) more than made up for by doing well on the interview. So like I said, please don't feel discouraged if you don't have a 90+ average - it's not the golden ticket in as it has sometimes been implied.
